Scindapsus Moonlight
Thick, silvery-green leaves with a satin sheen on a slow-vining plant. Tougher than it looks, tolerant of medium light, and one of the easiest collector plants to keep in a dry home.
Moonlight is the scindapsus with the silver-washed leaves, thick and almost succulent, on a vine that grows slowly and neatly. It is a cousin of the satin pothos and shares its easy nature: it tolerates medium light, dries out between waterings without complaint, and does not demand humidity.
Of all the plants in this batch, it is the one we would hand to someone who wants a rare plant without a rare-plant setup.
Light
Bright indirect light for the best silver. It tolerates medium light with slower growth and greener leaves. Direct sun scorches it.
Water
Let the top half of the pot dry, then water thoroughly. About every nine days in summer and every sixteen in winter. The thick leaves curl slightly when it is thirsty. It rots if kept wet.
Soil and potting
A chunky, well-draining aroid mix. It grows slowly; repot every couple of years. A pole gives larger leaves but trailing is fine.
Feeding
A half-strength balanced feed every six weeks in spring and summer.
Propagation
Node cuttings root in water or sphagnum, slowly. Patience.
In a hot, dry home
The best rare plant for this climate. Forty percent humidity is enough, it tolerates AC, and the thick leaves handle dry air. Keep it out of hot sun through glass and it is unbothered.

Slow growth
